There are two great Arlington County Drop-in programs that are fantastic for burning off energy in cold weather months.  K has taken some of her best naps after visiting these these programs.  Good naps= happy mom!

The first is Barcroft Sports and Fitness Center, located in S. Arlington off Four Mile Run Dr.  We LOVE this drop-in program.  It is available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-12pm.  The play area is the huge main gym and there are toys, balls, bikes, cars, and walkers available.  Because the area is so big, the older kids can run around and ride bikes, and the littler ones can still play without (too much) fear of  trike hit and run.  Cost is $3 per adult (free for members).

The second drop-in play area is Lubber Run, just north of route 50.  Although still a nice place to burn off energy when the weather is cold, this play area is much smaller so the bigger kids tend to take over a bit.  I noticed some of the new walkers getting knocked over a few times.  Lubber Run has a slide (personal favorite of K), lots of trikes, a piano, books, and cars.  Cost is $1 per adult.

I’ve included some of the details below.  Check them out!  Has anyone else been to these drop-in programs?  What did you think?
