Special Nutcracker Storytime and Mini-performance by BalletNOVA

10:30am: Barnes and Noble, Tysons Corner Center, McLean, VA

BalletNova Center for Dance is partnering with Barnes & Noble to offer a Nutcracker Storytime hour.  Costumed cast members from BalletNOVA’s Nutcracker will read one-on-one to the children, followed by a special preview performance.  We saw it last week in Clarendon, and highly recommend it (check out my review- http://wp.me/pPo7Z-bS)

Cookie Decorating and Book Reading

10am – 12pm: The Sugar Cube, Alexandria, VA
Head to the Sugar Cube for a reading of “Flakey the naked Snowman” with author, Amy Tubbs.  After the reading, kids will get to decorate their own snowman cookies with frosting, sprinkles, and other toppings.  The cookies will then be packaged in cello, and personalized with stickers and ribbon.  The class is for kids ages 4-8, and cost is $20 per child plus a $10 materials fee.

Gustafer Yellowgold

3pm: McLean Community Center, McLean, VA

The Enchanted Forest, is a winter-themed festival sponsored by the Junior League of Northern Virginia.  The festival includes Breakfast with Santa, snacks with the Snow Fairy Princess, Children’s Science Center interactive activities, a professional train display, musical and dance performers, arts and crafts, photos with Santa, a holiday shopping boutique, and a magical “forest” filled with holiday trees.

23rd Annual Washington Craft Show

11/19, 10am – 8pm, 11/20, 10am – 6pm, 11/21, 11am – 5pm: Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, DC

The Washington Craft Show is a great place to get a jump start on your holiday shopping.  This is an annual show at the Washington Convention Center, and displays unique and one-of-a-kind metal, leather, basketry, jewelry, ceramics, glass crafts and more.  General Admission: $15.00 adults, Children under 12 admitted free
