K and I have LOVED the tumbling class- Tumbling for Toddlers (ages 1 1/2 – 2).  There are several circuits that the kids go through- the floor area with balance beams, mats for climbing, and inclines for somersaults; the trampoline area with the bars, rings; and the pit with an obstacle course and foam pit for jumping and sliding.  K is always exhausted after the class.  It is tiring for the parents too, but well worth it!  It works out to around $12 a class.

We also took Abrakadoodle: Twoosy Doodlers at the Carver Center.  I was not as impressed with this class.  The tables and chairs are adult sized, so it made it difficult for the kids to do the projects.  The art projects were not that fun or inspiring.  K loves to paint so she enjoyed many of them, but they were typically done in 10-15 minutes.  The rest of the class was spent explaining what they would be doing, washing hands, and circle time at the end where they took turns “talking”about their project.  The class is also quite expensive for the result- our session in the fall was $17 per class (including the materials fee).  For what we got out of it, it just was not worth it.  Bottom line is that we could have done these projects at home for 1/4 of the cost.

We also took Kindermusik when K was around 1.  They are great classes with some movement, sign language, and lots of music.

I have heard great things about Dance with the Animals– Go Bananas.  I really wanted to take the class in the winter, but it isn’t offered on a day that we can take it- hopefully next session!  Any of the Go Bananas classes are fantastic- they go up to age 6.

The Little Olympians class is also supposed to be fun- the kids get to try different sports each week.

For those of you who are interested in taking classes, make sure to register first thing on Monday- many classes fill up quickly!
