Mount Vernon Storytelling

2pm & 3pm, Mount Vernon Estate, Mount Vernon, VA

In “Once Upon a Time at Mount Vernon,” costumed storytellers weave three tales together.  The storytelling takes place every Saturday and Sunday at 2pm and 3pm.  I is a 20 minute session, and kids will learn Aesop’s fables and hear about George Washington’s life.  Recommended for kids ages 3 – 8.  Adults are $15, kids ages 6-11 are $7, and kids 5 and under are free.

Visit Model Trains

10am – 6pm (Union Station) & 10am – 5pm (Botanical Garden), Season’s Greenings @ US Botanical Garden, Norwegian Holiday Model Trains @ Union Station, Washington, DC

We checked out both exhibits yesterday, and the Botanical Garden has hands down the best exhibit for trains (as well as beautiful greenery).  However, the line was very long at 4:00, and parking can be difficult.  No line at Union Station, and parking is very easy (parking validation is available).  I recommend the Botanical Garden if you have the time- it was beautiful!  Both exhibits are run through January 2nd.
