Feel The Heritage Festival

12-5pm @ Charles Drew Community Center, Arlington

Attend a free afternoon of fun, with music and dance performances (including Groovy Nate).  There will also be other kids activities including arts and crafts, balloon animals, and face painting.  There will be authentic soul food and lots of vendors.


Smithsonian Orchid Exhibit Family Day

11am – 3pm @ National Museum of Natural History, Washington, DC

Come explore the world of orchids, and enjoy stamp art and calligraphy and take a photo with a human-sized orchid.  You can also learn how to pot an orchid to take home. Orchid experts from the Smithsonian and U.S. Botanic Garden will be available all day to answer questions.  They will also be showing unique plants from their own collections.

Pi Beta Phi Storytime to Make Your Mark for Literacy Storytime

11am & 1pm @ Clarendon Market Commons, Barnes & Noble, Arlington

Nation’s Capital Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club invites you to Make Your Mark for Literacy.  Head to Barnes & Noble and celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday.  You can decorate a bookplate and enjoy storytime.

The Magic Paintbrush

11am @ Synetic Family Theater, Arlington
